- METU Northern Cyprus Buildings has won the 10th National Architectural Award in building category.
- This year’s National Exhibition consists of 202 projects (242 plates in total). Among the participating projects a shortlist of 33 candidates had been nominated before the exhibition. The buildings have been awarded for the success of the project in terms of enriching the life of the campus, their sensitivity for the climate and achievement of translating the existing conditions to the architectural design. The jury also emphasised the performance in terms of carrying out the initial ideas to the construction process without compromising from the established concept in the competition phase
- Tülin Hadi and Cem İlhan won the AVM Young Architect Award 2006.
- The jury, whose members are composed of Kaya Arıkoğlu, Kerem Erginoğlu, Ömer Kanıpak, Ziya Tanalı and Semra Uygur, has announced the winner of the Young Architect Award 2006. After the evaluation in Arkitera Architecture Centre this year’s award has been given to Tulin Hadi and Cem İlhan for their complete production, covering their realized buildings and designs. The aim of the award is to create a platform for encouraging the production of young architects and increase the public awareness about their performance.
