Vehbi Koç Foundation Ford Otosan Gölcük Culture Centre Won The Arkitera Client Award 2011: 2011 Arkitera Client Award has been given in two categories. This year’s commitee was composed of Bünyamin Derman, Cemal Mutlu, Enis Öncüoğlu and Erkut Şahinbaş. The Award has been given to Vehbi Koç Foundation Ford Otosan Gölcük Culture Centre which was designed by TeCe Architects This year’s Ceremony took place in Vakko Design Centre and the award has been given to Ahmet Özdilek representing the Vehbi Koç Foundation. The other category was the Public Sector Award.

The aim of the award is to honor the clients who support exclusive architectural realizations, and to emphasize the importance of client in terms of realizing distinguished architecture. Considering the public responsibilities of the architect and the client, the award intends to encourage investors to produce of high quality architectural products and urban spaces.

Hilton Garden Inn Golden Horn is ready for booking.: Set on the natural harbor known, the Golden Horn, located on the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul - Turkey’s cultural and financial centre, the Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Golden Horn hotel is close to an abundance of historical and cultural attractions. The main objective of the design is to integrate the new building with the existing urban fabric and the topography of the site. The architecture of the building questions the conventional hotel fomats with its massing, interplay of colours and textures. The Hotel has a capacity of 440 beds with fitness centre, restaurant and generous work surfaces such as 7 flexible conference spaces with a grand ballroom for larger occasions ensuring to be a 24-hour business center.

Vehbi Koç Foundation Culture and Recreational Centre has been inaugurated.: Ford Otosan, operating in its Kocaeli Gölcük Plants since 1999 inaugurated Vehbi Koç Foundation Culture and Recreational Centre with the exhibition of Devrim Erbil, who is one of the leading contemporary artists of Turkey. The complex aims at upgrading the social life of the local community. The opening ceramony has been completed with the participation of the Ministery of Industry Nihat Ergün, Honorary President of Koç Holding and Ford Otosan Excutive Board Rahmi Koç together with the Governor of Kocaeli Province Ercan Topaca, Mayor of Kocaeli Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Chairman of Vehbi Koç Foundation Board Semahat Arsel, Member of Koç Holding and Ford Otosan Excutive Board Ali Koç and General Manger of Ford Otosan Nuri Otay.
